In addition to its distinctive bluish-green color, Crystal BlueLinks from Tee-2-Green Corp. also sets itself apart by outperforming other creeping bentgrass varieties. The uniquely colored fairway turfgrass received a top-rated performance in the most recent 2005 NTEP trials.

More specifically, NTEP results from a two-year trial at 20 locations in five unique regions of the United States indicate Crystal BlueLinks rated better than every other creeping bentgrass variety in turfgrass quality. The study compared 28 bentgrass cultivars grown on a fairway or tee.
“It has fared remarkably well in country-wide field trials and is consistently proving itself both in overall turf quality and color,” said Bill Rose, president of Tee-2-Green Corp. “Superintendents and golf course designers looking for subtle color contrast between their greens and fairways will want to look into Crystal BlueLinks.”
Multi-year field trials also indicate Crystal BlueLinks maintains remarkable disease resistance to significant and oftentimes devastating turf diseases such as brown patch, dollar spot and copper spot.
First introduced as PST-OEB, a naming contest held at the 2007 Golf Industry Show launched the now-official name Crystal BlueLinks.
The first crop of Crystal BlueLinks is currently in production. With harvest scheduled for late July, the variety should be available for purchase in September.
