RDC Golf Group, Inc. (RDC), a leading golf course ownership and management company headquartered in Monroe Township, N.J., has signed a multi-year contract to manage the highly touted Tallgrass Country Club in Shoreham, New York. Tallgrass Country Club is a public golf course that is open year-round (weather permitting).
Opened in May of 2000, Tallgrass was ranked No. 9 on Golfweek’s 2007 list of “Best Courses You Can Play” in New York, and the course’s architect, Gil Hanse, was named 2009’s “Architect of the Year” by GOLF Magazine. In addition to the stellar golf, Tallgrass offers a picturesque, Hamptons-style clubhouse complete with a casual, pub-style restaurant and catering; a fully stocked pro shop; and a grass driving range.
“This facility is unique to Long Island and is a tribute to the Scottish golf experience with its false fronts on the greens, pot bunkers, and the tall fescue grasses that give us our name,” said Tallgrass General Manager and PGA Head Golf Professional Phil Tita.
For the devoted golfer, RDC has introduced a limited number of Annual Memberships starting as low as $1,595 for twilight memberships and $2,695 for Individual Annual Memberships purchased before March 31, 2010. Individual Annual Memberships boast numerous benefits including: 14-day advance tee times; member tournament programs; a “twilight tikes” program with discounted access for children of members; and discounts on cart fees, the driving range and merchandise. Several flexible payment options are available. For information, please call the club at (631) 209-9359.
“The Annual Membership program allows golfers an affordable way to enjoy the amenities of a private club without the obligations that come with membership at equity-owned facilities on Long Island,” adds Tita.
According to RDC Golf Group Chief Executive Officer Christopher Schiavone, “With a great layout and location, Tallgrass is a wonderful value for golfers living in – or traveling through – Suffolk County. Our job will be to focus on maintaining and building on the high standards at the facility, as well as building awareness of what is, for many, an undiscovered gem of affordable links-style golf. We believe RDC can do this well and anticipate growing success for Tallgrass despite the difficult economic times.”
