RDC Golf Group, a golf course ownership and management company, announced that it signed a long-term contract to lease Olde York Country Club in Columbus, N.J. As of May 1, RDC assumed responsibility for all aspects of the club’s operation including staffing, golf course maintenance and management, marketing and hospitality services. RDC now owns, operates and/or consults for six golf facilities in New Jersey, including the renowned Forsgate Country Club and Blue Heron Pines Golf Club.
Since its opening over 15 years ago, Olde York Country Club has been heralded as one of the state’s finest private facilities. The centerpiece of this 180-acre tract of breathtaking land is the 18-hole, Gary Player signature design golf course.
Named one of the “Best in the State” by Golf Digest for many years, the course at Olde York is a tribute to nature with its fairways and greens brilliantly carved out among native fescue grasses and stands of mammoth oak and maple trees.
In addition to the stellar golf course, Olde York boasts a modern clubhouse (built in 2002) that features casual dining in either the grille room or on the patio that overlooks the picturesque golf course; gourmet cuisine in the formal dining room; a state-of-the-art conference room for meetings; and elegantly appointed locker rooms that step out to an outdoor patio with views of the eighteenth hole.
The club also features an aquatic facility with a children’s pool and a sparkling, resort-style pool for families as well as a separate Grand Ballroom facility that can accommodate anywhere from 50-150 guests.
According to Olde York owner Ed Eget, the decision to lease the facility was not made lightly but the selection of RDC was an easy one.
“I was very familiar with RDC and have the utmost respect for them. I have tremendous confidence that they will run the property efficiently and profitably, perhaps even better than we did.”
RDC will continue to operate Olde York as a private country club and will honor all current memberships and hospitality contracts. Eric J. Quinn, currently general manager of the RDC-owned Blue Heron Pines Golf Club, will expand his responsibilities to include serving as the General Manager of Olde York.
For a limited time, golf members at both Olde York and at RDC’s flagship property Forsgate Country Club are able to upgrade their memberships to include reciprocal golfing privileges at both facilities.
