Homewood, Ill.-based Ravisloe Country Club, the 108-year-old former private club, closed last year due to financial difficulties and reopened this week as a public facility, the Southtown Star reports.
Observers believe the Donald Ross-design will be a successful public facility because of curiosity from golfers in the area who have never played it and because of its unique design.
