L. Gerard Johnson was named senior vice president of operations at ProLink Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ProLink Holdings Corp. and a provider of Global Positioning Satellite ("GPS") systems for golf courses.
A 19-year veteran of Fortune 500 manufacturing companies and acandidate forSix Sigma Black Belt certification, Johnson will use that experience to manage and coordinate new ProLink GPS system installations in the United States and Japan, oversee all product support center staff and direct the regional service manager/regional service technician organization.
ProLink recently introduced real-time, remote capabilities to its ProStar and GameStar GPS units.
"ProLink remains strongly focused on customer service, satisfaction and retention, and Gerard's expertise will boost our position as the unparalleled category leader in that endeavor," says Lawrence Bain, c.e.o. of ProLink Solutions."He brings outstanding management and leadership skills to this vital position and will push our customer support initiatives to even higher levels. Gerard's depth of experience and proven effectiveness make him a welcome addition to our executive team."
Johnson comes to ProLink Solutions from Eaglepicher Incorporated in Phoenix, where he served as director of operations. From 2003 to 2006, Johnson oversaw a range of departments and guided operations at six plants in the U.S., Canada and China while greatly increasing efficiency and reducing costs through Six Sigma data-management practices. (Six Sigma is a statistics-driven method of assuring quality in any process -- from manufacturing to service - and a Black Belt is considered a master of these techniques.)
From 1999-2003, Johnson served as plant manager for Collins & Aikman, a $240-million automotive industry supplier based in Oklahoma City. His accomplishments included a 95-percent reduction in reported defects and a 91-percent improvement in employee safety. Johnson's prior experience also includes stints as business team manager and senior production supervisor for TRW (Mesa, Ariz.) as well as team manager for Raychem Corporation (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.).
"I am excited to join a company that has exhibited dynamic growth yet still displays enormous potential," Johnson says. "ProLink's emphasis on customer service will ensure that it remains the category leader in GPS solutions and I look forward to helping the company achieve that objective."
