ProLink Solutions introduces enhanced GameStar and ProStar GPS units

The updated software helps to provide the company's golf course partners with real-time, remote capabilities.

ProLink Solutions -- a wholly-owned subsidiary of ProLink Holdings Corp. and a provider of Global Positioning Satellite ("GPS") systems for golf courses -- announces software updates to its recently unveiled GameStar and ProStar units, providing its golf course partners with real-time, remote capabilities.

The GameStar and ProStar updates distinguish ProLink as the only GPS provider substantially investing in customer support and product upgrades. The enhancements include new event and tournament-management capabilities, food-and-beverage ordering options and a full-screen, "end-of-round" ad position that expands ProStar's existing advertising capacity.

ProStar can now prompt golfers for their preferred distance measurements (yards or meters) -- a key feature as ProLink continues its rapid global expansion. The new ProStar offers enhanced food menu operation, giving golfers more options from the comfort of their carts; the ability to display a full-screen tournament leaderboard via remote monitor on club grounds; and added value for advertisers in the form of a full-screen ad placement that appears when golfers have completed their final hole.

GameStar now features efficient remote configuration of items including menus, pro tips and pace-of-play targets. Likewise, software updates are loaded via radio network, while Web-based data backup ensures quick recovery from server issues. The new GameStar also offers simplified tournament set-up with drag-and-drop interface and Excel compatibility; single-leaderboard scoring for shotgun tournaments contested over 27-hole courses; and on-screen menus for multiple food-and-beverage outlets at facilities with on-course snack shops. ProStar is also equipped for remote programming and with many of the above-mentioned features.

"The introduction of real-time capabilities strengthens ProLink Solutions' position as the industry standard-bearer for innovation and serviceability," says Lawrence Bain, president and c.e.o. of Chandler, Ariz.-based ProLink Solutions. "Golf course operators and advertisers will realize significant gains in efficiency while golfers' experience is bolstered with exciting new player-friendly elements."

Implementation of the system updates has begun at all courses with ProLink installations and will continue over the coming months. New courses engaging with ProLink will be equipped with the most up-to-date software.

Introduced at the 2006 PGA Merchandise Show and featuring ProLink's patented heads-up, 10.4" high resolution color screen -- the industry's largest - GameStar and ProStar's large font sizes and display allow golfers of all ages to view the dynamic graphical overviews, distances to the pin, fairway hazards, landmarks, undulations, pro tips, pace-of-play timer and radial arc for cart path only holes, along with many other features.

GameStar and ProStar allow courses to reduce round times by up to 30 minutes via the accurate GPS distance information and pace-of-play timer on the in-cart computer display, resulting in additional tee times on busy days. The pro shop may also send speed of play reminders and storm warnings, as well as information on daily specials and upcoming events that can significantly bolster revenue.
