Tempe, Ariz. – ProLink Solutions, a provider of Global Positioning Satellite systems to golf courses, will introduce its cart-mounted GameStar and ProStar GPS systems, available at the 2006 PGA Merchandise Show Jan. 26 through 29 at the Orange County Convention in Orlando, Fla.
Featuring ProLink’s patented heads-up, 10.4-inch high-resolution color screen, GameStar and ProStar’s large font sizes and display allow golfers to view the dynamic graphical overviews, distances to the pin, fairway hazards, landmarks, undulations, pro tips, pace of play timer and radial arc for cart path only holes, along with many other features.
With GameStar and ProStar, golf courses can reduce round times by up to 30 minutes via the accurate GPS distance information and pace of play timer on the in-cart computer display, resulting in additional tee times on busy days. Both systems feature two-way communication modules that allow the pro shop to send speed of play reminders and storm warnings, as well as information on daily specials and upcoming events that can significantly bolster revenue.
GameStars 10.4-inch screen facilitates revenue-generating advertising displays and hole sponsorships on its system screen. ProStar’s AdManager software simplifies the advertising process with an easy-to-use program designed to put on-course advertising information at the course operator or marketing manager’s fingertips, allowing for the remote management and manipulation of every aspect of ad placement on the GPS system.
ProStar features ScoreCast, PGA of America-approved tournament software. ScoreCast allows event managers to quickly configure tournament types, event times, pairings, assign prize monies, handicaps and formats – even side games like skins, pari-mutual and Calcutta.
Event planners can also use ScoreCast to generate score cards, cart cards, gift certificates and other tee prizes. Scoring is made easy, as golfers enter their score when prompted after each hole. A real-time leaderboard feature adds to the entire experience by keeping participants up-to-date on scores, as well as the leader’s position and location on the course.
Through its ScoreMaster software, GameStar offers a simplified-yet-comprehensive tournament set-up that allows for any format and for any number of tournaments to be carried out simultaneously. ScoreMaster facilitates tournament operations, improves the entertainment value for golfers and attracts more tournament outings.
In addition, golfers can use GameStar and ProStar’s food and beverage menu to order from the comfort of their golf cart at a pre-programmed location on the golf course. In concert with a fully interactive menu, food and beverage managers can also display full-screen images off high-margin items before golfers reach the turn or near the end of rounds. Pace of play is maintained via the turn menus on both systems, providing an enhanced customer experience without sacrificing round time.
ProLink’s course management software provides the course staff with a real-time graphical view of the course and entire cart fleet. The carts are color coded, indicating to staff which are on time and which behind pace of play (and by how many minutes). This feature results in increased efficiency and lower-cost marshalling operations.
“GameStar and ProStar not only improve the overall experience of the golfer, they benefit the golf course by providing improved pace of play, increased sales, facilitating successful tournaments and more efficient and effective monitoring of cart fleets,” says Lawrence Bain, president and chief executive officer of ProLink Solutions. “Golf courses and resorts can also take advantage of the systems’ advertising capabilities to create a high margin incremental profit center that is second only to green and cart fees.”
