Elgin, Ill. – The Highlands of Elgin now features the ProLink Global Positioning Satellite system.
The ProLink GPS boasts a high-resolution, color monitor affixed to each golf cart. It displays pinpoint-accurate distances to the hole, as well as vibrant and easy-to-understand graphics of fairways and greens’ hazards and contours. Better navigating the course and taking guesswork out of the game aids golfers’ shot selections and, in turn, speeds pace of play at The Highlands of Elgin. Other features include ordering food and beverage at the touch of a button while on the course, as well as personal scoring and tournament leaderboards.
“ProLink GPS is an innovative, user-friendly amenity that enhances the experience for our golfers and greatly improves our golf course operations,” says Jim Vogt, head golf professional at Highlands of Elgin. “Pace of play is improved as golfers see the yardage on screen, jump out of their carts, grab a club and they're ready to go.”
Formerly known as Spartan Meadows Golf Club, the Highlands of Elgin was recently redesigned by golf course architect Keith Foster. The layout plays through rolling hills, expansive fairways and features undulating greens. The 18-hole, city-owned facility plays to a new and expanded yardage of just over 6,700 yards from the black tees.
“ProLink is excited to have been selected by The Highlands of Elgin and to add it to our growing list of trusted partners,” says Lawrence Bain, president and c.e.o. of ProLink Solutions. “We look forward to the course experiencing enhanced customer service and increased rounds and revenue through ProLink.”
In addition to game-improvement and enjoyment features for golfers, ProLink has become a marketing and management tool for courses like The Highlands of Elgin to realize revenue increases and bottom-line savings.
