Lihue, Kaua’I, Hawaii – Kiele Course at Kaua’i Lagoons Golf Club has installed the ProLink Global Positioning Satellite system on its golf cart fleet.
The 36-hole golf club is now offering the ProLink GPS system, featuring a 10-inch color monitor, on its Jack Nicklaus-designed course. The new amenity is available to guests on a complimentary basis.
“We are pleased the Kaua’i Lagoons Golf Club continues to provide visitors to the island of Kaua’i with the latest experience-enhancing technology,” says Sue Kanoho, executive director of the Kaua’i visitors bureau. “Our golf destination partnership and its member clubs and resorts are dedicated to offering visitors with amenities which ensure their satisfaction and enjoyment.”
Kaua’i Lagoons’ new GPS service also allows players to “see” and measure distances to golf carts ahead of them, which can be helpful in deciding whether or not to hit the ball when on a blind hole or when other golfers are still in the fairway ahead. In the case of an emergency, guests can use the GPS to send a message to the pro shop to request assistance.
“ProLink offers a superior GPS product with a large monitor, excellent graphics and some great advantages for our guests,” says Kenneth Kimura, golf operations manager at the Kauai Lagoons Golf Club. “No more having to search for yardage markers or guesstimating your distances, and golfers can use the system to accurately measure how far they drove the ball.”
