Profile Products is building a new distribution center to support its Conover, N.C., manufacturing plant, increasing the plant's storage capacity to better serve its erosion control customers. The new distribution center is one of several investments Profile is making to support its position as the market leader and to better serve its customers.
The new center will allow for more product capacity, more efficient means of filling customer orders and will be able to better serve Profile's customers' pressing needs.
The new, 150,000 square-foot Hickory Distribution Center will house Profile's manufactured erosion control products such as hydraulic mulch, blankets and filtration tube products prior to distribution. These products include Profile's Flexterra Flexible Growth Medium, Futerra, Futerra F4 Netless, Terra-Tubes Fiber Filtration Tubes and Hydro-Blanket Bonded Fiber Matrix. Construction of the new center is scheduled to be completed late July and Profile will begin distributing orders from it on Aug. 1.
In addition to increased capacity, the distribution center will implement a new electronic bar code system to better track customer orders and inventory. Customers picking up their orders will have improved access to truck loading areas at the Hickory Distribution Center.
"With the increased capacity at our Hickory Distribution Center, we'll have more products on hand to better satisfy the needs of our customers," said John Schoch, c.e.o. of Profile Products. "The new center will better enable us to provide customers with the products they want, when they want them."
