Prime Source announced the hiring of Mike Daugherty and John Rom as territory managers.
Daugherty will cover Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota and Kansas, while Rom will serve Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico and Colorado.
“With our current growth, we took this opportunity to split the Midwest region. This will allow us to have better alignment for our growing portfolio and customer base,” Prime Source national sales manager Justin Watts said. “We are thrilled to bring on two highly experienced individuals who will continue building upon the successful relationships in these territories.”
Daugherty has more than 35 years in the turf and ornamental industry, including five-plus years as a territory manager and 30 years as a golf course superintendent. In recent years, Daugherty has also developed a successful, full-service lawn and landscape company, giving him a unique background in both the golf course and lawn industry that will help him in assisting distributors, superintendents and lawn care operators.
Daugherty received an associate degree in turf management and ornamental horticulture from Danville Area Community College. He has been married to his wife Julie for 32 years and together they have three children: Tyler, Karlie and Gabriella. Mike and his family reside in Troy, Illinois, a suburb of St. Louis.
Rom has more than 20 years of distribution experience within the turf and ornamental industry. He started his career as a distributor sales representative and progressed in his roles as a sales manager, operations manager, branch manager, and turf and ornamental market manager.
Rom was born in Texas and raised in Oklahoma, receiving his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Central Oklahoma. Rom has been married to his wife, Jamie, for almost 19 years and they have two daughters: Chloe and Brooklyn. He lives in Castle Rock, Colorado, with plans to return home to either Oklahoma City metro or the Dallas/Fort Worth metro areas.
