Poplar Hill Golf Club, Farmville, Va., opened for public play June 15 to an enthusiastic response from golfers. The all-bentgrass layout is touted as championship quality.

The 18-hole championship course, designed by architect, Rick Robbins, is the center piece of a 1060 acre master planned mixed-use residential/resort community in Prince Edward County in central Virginia. The property is located four miles from downtown Farmville and 60 miles southwest of Richmond.
The master plan for the community includes the golf course and clubhouse, an inn and executive conference center and approximately 1,000 to 1,200 residential units including single family homes, golf villa duplex units, townhouse units, and condominiums.
