Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic -- Gary Player will return to Guavaberry Golf & Country Club to design a second signature championship course. Scheduled for completion in 2007, the second course will bring Guavaberry another step closer to achieving its goal as a world class country club residential community and resort.
The course will feature gently sloping hillsides, undulating greens and indigenous flora and coral formations. It will consist of 18 holes with tees for every level of player from beginner to pro golfer. It also will include several natural traps, water features and treacherous bunkers.
“We are proud and honored to add a second signature Gary Player course, expanding Guavaberry’s horizons and bringing us one step closer to completing the master plan” said Jabar Singh of Guavaberry Golf & Country Club.
Golfers can own a piece of paradise on Gary Player’s course. To date, 30 villas are complete with phase two breaking ground. Each villa is adorned with cedar closets, tile floors, private Jacuzzis, a swimming pool and spacious patios overlooking tropical landscape and the signature Player golf course. These modern villas range from 3,000 to 5,000 square feet. The cost of the villas starts at $300,000.
Guavaberry Golf & Country Club is a vast, planned neighborhood and sporting community consisting of 1,000 homes and planned lots developed by 2010. This private community located in Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic, is cleverly designed among the natural landscape and beauty of this Caribbean island, just 45 minutes from the bustling city of Santo Domingo and only 10 minutes from Las Americas International Airport.
The country club includes a Gary Player-designed, 18-hole, 7,156-yard, par-72, championship course, golf practice range, putting, chipping and bunker practice area. The 12,500-square-foot clubhouse features two Har-Tru tennis courts, a junior Olympic size swimming pool, fine dining, comfortable lounge, pro shop and has plans for a fitness center and world class spa facilities.
