Phoenix adds insecticide/miticide

Valdosta, Ga. – Lucid 0.15 EC insecticide/miticide is the latest product to become a part of the line from Phoenix Environmental Care LLC.

“Lucid offers control of several insects in greenhouse ornamentals, nursery crops and landscape plants,” says Owen Towne, Phoenix Environmental Care LLC president. “Lucid is a 0.15 lb. emulsifiable concentrate. The active ingredient, abamectin, has a unique mode of action that is highly effective against a wide range of plant-damaging mites and certain leaf-feeding beetles and worms, leafminers, psyllids and thrips. The unique mode of action means that Lucid is also well suited for resistance management programs.”

Lucid, which will be offered in both quart-sized containers, is formulated to provide maximum leaf uptake for longer residual control. The product is rainfast, odorless, formulated for easy application with standard equipment, and leaves no unsightly residue on plants.

“Abamectin is based on a natural fermentation product of the bacterium Streptomyces avermitilis, first discovered near a golf course in Japan,” says Towne. “Within hours of exposure to abamectin, insects quit feeding and damaging the plant, so the benefits are almost immediate.”
