Ewing Irrigation Products appointed Pete Gumas as agronomic sales representative. Gumas will focus on providing turf and landscape professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area with solutions to turf diseases, pest problems, and weed identification and control.
"Pete brings 20 years of turf and horticulture industry experience to Ewing," says Mike Tentis, Ewing's national turf products sales manager. "He is a certified pest control advisor, and is well-versed in the pesticide, fertilizer, and seed choices for our Northern California customers."
Gumas' goal is to enhance and expand Ewing's customer service offerings for Northern California green industry professionals, including soil testing, fertilizer sales, and helping customers with weed identification and disease troubleshooting.
"I will spend the majority of my time in the field with my customers, ready to help solve their turf and landscape problems," Gumas says. "First, and foremost, I want to earn their trust as a reliable and knowledgeable vendor."
Gumas has future plans of implementing integrated pest management continuing education classes for customers and believes education is imperative to his customers' success. As an active player in the green industry, he currently serves as Treasurer for the Northern California Turf and Landscape Council.
Gumas will be based out of Ewing's Concord (Pacheco), Calif. branch.
