PerformanceTrak expands

Since the launch of PGA PerformanceTrak in June 2005, 2,755 unique golf facilities have participated in the association’s monthly rounds played and key performance indicator service.

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. – PGA PerformanceTrak, The PGA of America’s complimentary research service to support PGA professionals and their employers, reached a record 2,755 unique facilities participating in the association’s monthly rounds played and key performance indicator (KPI) service, as of December 2005. The results demonstrate the importance of these benchmarks to golf operators and the ease of use in reporting and accessing analysis.

Highlights for the first six months of PGA PerformanceTrak operations include:
· 2,755 unique facilities have provided rounds played and/or KPI data for one or more months since the service’s inception in June 2005.
· A record 1,227 facilities provided rounds played data during November.
· A record 800 facilities provided both golf fee revenue per round and golf merchandise revenue per round KPI responses for November.
· 38 of the 41 PGA Sections – and 38 of 50 states – had more than 10 responses that provided for regional level reporting, including reporting by facility type.
· The highest-ranking PGA professionals at facilities with nine or more holes of golf have the ability to share access to data and reports 24 hours a day, seven days a week to their owners/employers through a proxy tool.
· Through www.PGALinks.com online surveys, PGA professionals or their proxies have the ability to enter historical data at any point in time, which will enhance data comparisons.
· The PGA of America is the single largest contributor of monthly rounds played data for industry reporting by Golf 20/20 and Golf Datatech.

This month, PGA PerformanceTrak offers a new feature: “My Facility Comparative Report,” which measures (on a confidential basis) rounds played and KPI results for a PGA member’s specific facility to median rounds played and KPI results for the applicable state, section, facility type and overall national figures, without revealing the names of participating facilities.

PGA PerformanceTrak has expanded to offer two new components that will enhance data reporting techniques for PGA member facilities: an annual PGA operations survey and a point of sale system interface.

The PGA annual operations survey targets the highest-ranking PGA professionals and their designees at each PGA facility. The survey, which concludes March 17, is a confidential data collection covering a facility’s statistics, revenues, expenses, cost of sales and net operating income. The survey will enable PGA professionals and their employers to review a “My Facility Report” that breaks down the data in relation to like facilities and region of the country.

The point of sale system interface will supply the following benefits for PGA professionals and their employers:
· Streamlined data input process with limited manual effort;
· Ability for multi-course facilities to participate on a consistent basis for all facilities;
· Ability for multi-course facilities to provide data in a consolidated file or upload; and
· More timely data and reporting, which will contribute to an earlier release of interactive reports.
