Performance Nutrition and Turf Max announce the release of Prudent Green, an innovative new tool to help superintendents and other turf managers increase the vigor of their turfgrass during times of heat or drought stress. Prudent Green is a formulation of Prudent 44 phosphite fertilizer (from Performance Nutrition) with Turf Screen enhanced solar protection, a sunscreen for turf (from Turf Max). The unique formulation helps strengthen the turfgrass plant during times of drought or heat stress, while blocking harmful UVB rays of the sun that are known to inhibit photosynthesis.
Prudent Green debuts at both the Performance Nutrition booth #1713 and the Turf Max booth #3922 beginning Wednesday, Feb. 10.
Prudent 44 from Performance Nutrition is a highly concentrated phosphite fertilizer. It has a 15-0-0 NPK content with 42 percent PO3 expressed as P2 O5. Prudent 44 stimulates key pathways in the plant to defend against environmental stress. It also increases the integrity of plant cell walls, which improves plant strength and resistance.
Formulated with enhanced solar protection, Turf Screen from Turf Max acts as a sunscreen for turfgrass, blocking harmful UVB rays and other wavelengths known to inhibit photosynthesis and weaken turf plants in times of high heat and prolonged sun exposure. Safe for the environment and independently verified to improve turf quality, Turf Screen inhibits wilt and saves water by achieving an up to 30% water reduction.
Prudent Green combines Prudent 44 and Turf Screen together as a premixed foliar application for turf. Scott May, president of Turf Max, invested 12 years as a golf course superintendent and tested the products on the golf course.
