Dan Schlegel, who has designed, or co-designed several award-winning golf courses while working with Ault-Clark & Associates, has opened his own firm south of Annapolis, Md.
Cindy Davis and Leigh Bader were named to the executive board of Golf 20/20. Davis is U.S. general manager for Nike Golf and Bader is a golf retailer.
Members newly elected to a three-year term on the RISE governing board were BASF Corp., Dow AgroScience, and the Scotts Co. Stephen Briggs will represent BASF and Stanton Howell will represent Dow. Briggs was elected vice-chair and Wayne Winner, of Valent, was elected treasurer by the governing board. Dan Untiedt of McLaughlin Gormley King Co., chairman, and Laurie Treu of Crompton Corp., a past chairman, will serve another year in their respective positions. Other board members continuing their terms are William Culpepper of SePro Corp; Terry Higgins of Olympic Horticultural Products; Andy Symons of Whitmire Micro-Gen Research Labs; and Amy Yoder of Nufarm Americas. Allen James, RISE president, serves as secretary on the board. At the board’s December meeting, Rich Martinez, of the Scotts Co. and Kevin Holloway, of Monsanto, were appointed to fill the board seat for their respective companies.

The Golf Course Builders Association of America elected Rick Boylan of Mid-America Golf and Landscape and Bob Pinson of Course Crafters to the board of directors. Dale Seimens was re-elected to the board.

Aquatrols appointed Tom Malehorn as international accounts manager. He will be responsible for maintaining, developing and expanding sales in professional turf markets worldwide.
Marcia Luigs was elected to serve a one-year term as chairman of the 17-member USGA Women’s Committee. Roberta Bolduc was elected to a one-year term as first vice chairman of the Women’s Committee, and Barbara Douglas was elected to a one-year term as second vice chairman. Brigid Shanley Lamb and Kathy Oven were elected to the Women’s Committee for a one-year term.
Agrotain International hired John Wilson as a regional manager. He will be based in Abbotsford, British Columbia, to cover the Western United States and the Western provinces of Canada.

John Renwick is the new general manager for Golf Ventures West in Southern California.
Steve Anderson was named equipment territory manager for the southern Phoenix market for Golf Ventures West.
Dow AgroSciences promoted Ryan Messner to sales representative for the turf and ornamental business. He will work in Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana and parts of Arkansas and northern Alabama.
