PBI-Gordon announced that it has awarded three GCSA chapters with scholarship and research grants.
The chapters won based on attendance at the PBI-Gordon Tekken Opening Bell Event during the 2018 Golf Course Industry Show in San Antonio. The winning chapters are:
First place: Heart of America GCSA ($5,000)
Second place: Minnesota GCSA ($2,500)
Third place: Rocky Mountain GCSA ($1,000)
Scott Johnson, CGCS, superintendent of Shadow Glen The Golf Club in Olathe, Kan., and president of the Heart of America GCSA, said, “We are honored to have won the scholarship and grant money from PBI-Gordon, and have already made plans to put the money to good use.”
Johnson added the bulk of the $5,000 prize will be used to fund scholarships for students from the turfgrass science schools at Kansas State University and the University of Missouri.
