Cleveland – Pat Jones now is a columnist and advisor for Golf Course News. Jones, an award-winning writer and commentator, will have a regular column in every issue of the print version of Golf Course News and will participate in the publication’s Web site and e-newsletter. He will also serve as a member of the magazine’s editorial advisory board.

“It’s an understatement to say we’re pleased to have Pat writing for us and working with our editors,” said Kevin Gilbride, publisher. “We’ve been growing by leaps and bounds since we relaunched the magazine last year. Pat will help us accelerate that success.”

In addition to his work with the magazine, Jones is also president of Flagstick LLC, a consulting firm he founded to provide sales and marketing intelligence to green industry businesses. Most recently, he was publisher of Golfdom magazine, which he helped launch in 1998. Under his leadership, Golfdom became a successful business and won numerous national editorial awards.

Prior to starting Golfdom, Jones was an executive at a major Midwest advertising agency and a long-time senior staff member with the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. Jones also has chaired the Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment communications committee and is a founder and past president of the Turf & Ornamental Communicators Association.
