Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. is now offering enhanced speed control functionality as a standard feature of its Pace Technology platform. Available on most newer E-Z-GO ELiTE electric golf cars and Cushman ELiTE electric utility vehicles equipped with Pace Technology, this feature allows operators of golf courses, commercial and educational campuses, government installations, and other sites to control the speeds of their vehicles in geofenced areas, for enhanced safety in high-traffic zones or on difficult terrain.

“Enhanced speed control is included as a standard component of the Pace Technology package, underscoring our commitment to providing essential functionality to our customers,” vice president of Pace Technology for Textron Specialized Vehicles Peter Claus said. “Customers who choose Pace Technology are investing not only in today’s solution, but in a platform that will continually deliver new, innovative features that enhance both the experience for drivers and efficiency for fleet operators.”

The Pace Technology software platform uses advanced GPS-based technology and is accessible to operators through a multitude of devices, including desktop and laptop computers, tablets and smartphones. Operators can monitor vehicle usage on their property, tracking location and activity, and engage in two-way communication with drivers if needed through audible alerts and in-vehicle screens. In addition to limiting vehicle speeds in geofenced areas using speed control, operators also can restrict vehicle usage in and around sensitive areas, such as water features and ornamental beds. Managers can add or alter new geofenced zones as needed and provide different levels of privileges for specific users and vehicles.
