Osprey Meadows at Tamarack Resort announced that Scott Masingill advanced through the first stage of the Champions Tour “Q” School and is therefore entered in the Final Stage competition Nov. 11-16 at TPC Eagle Trace in Coral, Fla.
Masingill won the Idaho Open in July when he shot an opening-round 59 en route to the three-round victory. He was one of 20 players to advance out of Q School regional qualifying which concluded on Friday, and competed at Red Hawk Golf Club in Temecula, Calif., one of several regional qualifying sites in the U.S.
“I was really never at risk of not advancing,” said Masingill, who finished 17th and advanced by a comfortable margin of seven strokes ahead of the 21st place finisher. “My game was really good at times, I just need to clean it up for the [Q School] Finals.”
