Osprey Meadows at Tamarack Resort to open in late May

The Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Signature Golf Course is located in Idaho

Named for the birds of prey that frequently grace the sweeping meadow and forest areas of Tamarack Resort's Robert Trent Jones, Jr., signature golf course, the highly anticipated opening of Osprey Meadows at Tamarack Resort in Idaho will occur in late-May, weather permitting.

"The natural terrain of the land used for this course provided us a perfect design palette," says Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Master Architect and Chairman of Robert Trent Jones II. "The dramatic changes in landscape and majestic views of the mountains, the meadow and Lake Cascade, qualify Osprey Meadows as one of the finest courses in the Pacific Northwest."

Osprey Meadows is a par-72 course featuring a challenging, 400-acre layout and natural, varied terrain. There are approximately 73 bunkers spread over 18 holes with several significant water features and wetlands, tree-lined fairways, spacious greens, five par-5, and five par-3 holes.

The average size of the greens is 7,000 square feet with an average green slope gradient of less than 3%. The course is at an elevation of 4,800 feet -- ideal for carrying the ball and providing a longer mountain golf season, yet eliminating the need for acclimation.

A ski/golf biathlon set for May 20 will kick off Osprey Meadows' season.

"If weather conditions allow, we'll ski in the morning and golf in the afternoon, savoring the unique opportunity to experience two diverse sports in one day," says Alfredo Miguel, avid golfer and Chairman of the Board of the all-season Tamarack Resort.

Just off the 18th hole, Tamarack Resort's newly opened Members' Lodge and Spa adds to the allure of the course by offering luxurious lodging, gourmet dining, shopping, a fitness center, and full-service health & wellness spa.
