Olde York Country Club names superintendent

Danielle Soldo became the fifth active female golf course superintendent in New Jersey by taking the job at the Burlington County.

Olde York Country Club, the award-winning private country club nestled in the rolling hills of Burlington County, announces that Danielle Soldo has been named golf course superintendent. With this appointment, Soldo becomes only the fifth active female golf course superintendent in New Jersey (among the membership of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America).

As golf course superintendent of Olde York, Soldo is responsible for preserving and upgrading the club’s highly touted golf course that has been among those listed as “Best in State” by Golf Digest magazine.  In addition, Soldo supervises a staff of nearly 20 maintenance employees, maintains budgets and oversees clubhouse landscaping.

Soldo comes to Olde York from the renowned Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township, where she has served as assistant golf course superintendent since 1999. At Forsgate, Soldo worked closely with the club’s Golf Course Superintendent Tom Saunders and was a leading member of the maintenance team credited with elevating the club’s Banks Course to one of the most celebrated tracts in the Garden State.

“Forsgate Country Club has prepared me by showing me how a good course should look, how it should play and what needs to be done to get it where the membership and the staff want it,” said Soldo. “My superintendents taught me never to lose sight of the big picture, but always pay attention to detail.”

At Olde York, Soldo will continue to have the support of the Forsgate maintenance staff as both courses are operated by RDC Golf Group, Inc. (RDC), a leading golf course ownership and management company.  RDC owns and operates Forsgate and recently announced a long-term lease agreement with Olde York.

According to Olde York General Manager Eric J. Quinn, “Danielle’s track record speaks for itself, and I am confident that with her at the helm, Olde York will continue to be recognized as one of the best conditioned courses in the state.”

Soldo received a bachelor’s degree in Botany from the University of Rhode Island and is a graduate of the prestigious Rutgers University Turf Management Program.  She currently resides in East Windsor, N.J., with her husband and three sons.
