Ryan Brickley has joined Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation as head golf professional, bringing with him several years of experience in the Charlotte market.
Brickley comes to Olde Sycamore after two years as an assistant pro at Ballantyne Country Club. Prior to that, he spent three years as director of instruction at NorthStone Country Club and two years as director of instruction at the Michael Jordan Golf Center.
Brickley is an Ohio native who’s also spent time as a head professional in Chicago.
“My focus for the last several years has been teaching and competing, and I was looking for an opportunity to be in charge of an overall golf operation again,” Brickley said. “I’ve always liked the atmosphere at Olde Sycamore.”
General manager Ted Staats is hopeful that Brickley can elevate the level of customer service at Olde Sycamore, while reinvigorating its teaching programs.
“Ryan has a good personality and a keen eye for detail,” said Staats. “I really like his out-front approach to member services and guest services. His teaching background is a big plus. We want him to work with our junior golf program and upgrade our lesson programs.”
Brickley holds a degree in finance from Miami University in Ohio. He is a Class A member of the PGA of America since 1996. He and his wife, Tara, live in Charlotte.
