Ohio suburban course faces pay cuts

Employees will be given unpaid time off.

To help keep the city's finances on the fairway and out of the sand traps, five employees at Fox Den Golf Course, Stow, Ohio, will have their pay decreased by 3.8 percent in 2010.

The pay cuts were approved Dec. 10 by Stow City Council and will go into effect Jan. 1.

Four full-time employees -- general manager and head professional Tom McKinney, course superintendent George F. Hanson, assistant course superintendent Dale Hill and assistant general manager Mark Paxton -- will be given unpaid time off on the first week of January and on the last week of December in 2010.
