Brewster, Mass. - Already home to PGA Championship golf, Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club is teeing up to offer professional golf instruction as well. Beginning in May 2005, the Cape Cod golf and sporting retreat will welcome John Jacobs’ Golf Schools.

“The combination of challenging play, great instruction and our own inviting seaside surroundings will make Ocean Edge a great experience for golfers of every skill level,” says Harry Parker, head golf professional.

Headquartered in Mesa, Ariz., John Jacobs’ Golf Schools emphasize tailored training techniques to meet all golfers’ needs. The schools’ teaching system is based on continuity and consistency, and is delivered by Jacobs-certified PGA and LPGA pros who’ve been trained in the schools’ philosophy. About 15,000 students graduate from John Jacobs’ Golf Schools annually at 33 locations throughout the world.

The schools will be offered at Ocean Edge from mid-May through mid-July 2005. Guests at Ocean Edge will be able to enjoy three-day schools with John Jacobs instructors. Schools average five hours per day plus optional playing time and cover all aspects of the game, including full swing, short game, trouble shots and on-course play. Cost is from $945 per person (double) on weekdays and from $1,045 per person (double) on weekends, including lodging, meals, instruction and play.

Designed in its current form by Geoffrey Cornish and Brian Silva in 1986, Ocean Edge’s 18-hole, par-72, 6,665-yard PGA Championship golf course was recently named one of Massachusetts’ top golf courses by Boston Magazine and has hosted NEPGA and Golf Digest events. There also is a driving range, and both are open to resort guests, Ocean Edge Club members, residential property owners and the public.
