Nutramax hires respected superintendent

Doug Petersan is working with the company to provide agronomic advice and guidance for customers and distributors in Texas and the Southwest.

Doug Petersan, one of the nation’s most highly respected superintendents, is now working with Nutramax Laboratories, Inc., to spread the word about the company’s products.

Petersan will provide agronomic advice and guidance for Nutramax customers and distributors in Texas and the Southwest.

“We’re thrilled that Doug has moved from being a long-time customer to being one of the Nutramax family,” said George Barger, director of the agricultural division for the company.  “His experience and industry knowledge will be a great asset to our Company and to our customers.”

Petersan recently retired as superintendent at Austin Golf Club,  a private facility in Austin, Texas, designed by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore.  He still serves as a consultant to the club and also works with other facilities around the country to help them be more successful.

Petersan has been a leader in golf course maintenance for nearly 50 years.  Prior to his tenure at Austin Golf Club, he was golf course superintendent at Baltimore Country Club in Maryland for eight years and at Prairie Dunes Golf Club in Hutchinson, Kan., for 12 years.  Before that, he served at facilities in Nebraska and Illinois from 1960 to 1980.  A native Nebraskan, Petersan attended the University of Nebraska majoring in business. He continues to make his home in Dripping Springs, Texas, near Austin GC.
