Nufarm announced California EPA registration of Velocity PM Poa Management Herbicide, which is now approved for use on California golf courses. Velocity PM is specifically developed and formulated to help golf courses gradually and selectively remove postemergence annual bluegrass and roughstalk bluegrass, while also reducing Poa annua seedhead production and suppressing dollar spot.
Nufarm’s recommended program using Velocity PM supports Poa management “at your pace” by helping golf course superintendents tailor Poa transition to the desired speed of conversion to support a more uniform turfgrass.
“Velocity PM is an excellent tool for superintendents who are looking to effectively manage Poa annua on their fairways and tees,” western regional sales manager Krystal Abbott said. “Through a transition program, Velocity PM phases out unwanted Poa gradually to suit the course’s needs.”
Velocity PM is effective on creeping bentgrass, perennial ryegrass and tall fescue and is labeled for golf course fairways and tees, commercial and residential turfgrass, athletic fields and sod farms. With a low use rate, Velocity PM equips turfgrass managers with an efficient and economical tool for Poa removal while being tank-mix compatible with PGRs, fertilizers and fungicides. Velocity PM also adds control of numerous broadleaf weeds.
At GCSAA’s Conference and Tradeshow in San Diego this past February, Nufarm showcased the effectiveness of Velocity PM Herbicide in conjunction with Anuew PGR to regulate out unwanted Poa from the golf course.
