Burr Ridge, Ill. – Nufarm Americas added Razor Burn to their line of herbicides for the professional turf and ornamental market. Razor Burn is a liquid pre-mix formulation of glyphosate and diquat that offers broad-spectrum, non-selective control of many annual weeds, perennial weeds, woody brush and trees.
“Our customers know glyphosate works well, but are tired of the calls they receive asking whether they really applied it and why the problem isn’t going away,” notes Sean Casey, Nufarm’s vice president, sales, turf. “Razor Burn gives applicators the same effective control they’ve trusted from Razor Pro, but with much quicker visual results. The weeds turn brown, the customer doesn’t call and the applicator doesn’t have to follow-up with the end result being more productivity and more satisfied customers.”
Measuring, pouring and mixing have been simplified with the use of the 64 oz. squeeze-and-measure container. There is no waste and no worries about over-application that might cause too-rapid browning of the weed and insufficient uptake of the glyphosate, resulting in incomplete control. Nufarm has made it simple and cost-effective to control weeds quickly and easily in ornamentals, bed maintenance, crack and crevice treatments, brush and vine clearing and perimeter treatments.
Razor Burn moves through the plant from the point of foliage contact into the root system to provide complete systemic control. The swift effects of this post-emergent herbicide can be visibly noticed on most annual weeds within one day and on most perennial weeds in two days. The glyphosate active in the formulation inhibits an enzyme found only in plants and microorganisms that are essential to formation of specific amino acids while diquat rapidly disrupts the cell integrity of photosynthetically active tissues in the contacted foliage.
“One of the best features of is Razor Burn is its ease-of-use since it requires no mixing, will not settle out in solution and is essentially non-volatile,” adds Casey. “This is an extremely valuable product for use in situations where mechanical efforts are not suitable or other herbicides don’t provide the speedy visual results.”
Razor Burn has no soil residual activity and may be applied through most standard sprayers after dissolution and thorough mixing with water according to label instructions. The 8 x 64 oz. cases are available through normal distribution channels.
