World Golf Hall of Fame member Greg Norman has renewed his support of The Environmental Institute for Golf, the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). He will serve on The Institute's board of trustees and chair its Advisory Council for another five years.
“This is an important milestone for The Institute,” GCSAA CEO and Institute trustee Mark Woodward, CGCS, said. “By recommitting, Greg demonstrates his dedication and approval of the progress we have made towards reaching our goals. We appreciate the unique talents he brings and the passion with which he does it.”
The Advisory Council provides guidance to The Institute's board of trustees in the areas of outreach, fundraising and strategic planning. The members are selected to enhance The Institute's ability to cultivate relationships with current and potential donors, as well as communicate the importance of the work conducted by The Institute.
"I've said from day one that if I was going to get involved with The Environmental Institute for Golf, I wanted to be actively involved," Norman said. "I am very pleased with the progress we have made increasing environmental stewardship on golf courses and I am looking forward to building upon that."
