Niebur Golf names new c.o.o.

Sam Sakocius, golf construction professional of 25 years, has been named chief operating officer for Niebur Golf, Inc. of Colorado Springs, Colo. He will assume his new role Jan. 3.

“We are extremely pleased to be able to acquire someone of Sam’s caliber for our organization,” says Joe Niebur, Niebur Golf’s president. “His experience and reputation is well known in the industry and will be a tremendous asset to us.”

In his new role, Sakocius will oversee all golf operations for the company as well as new business development.

“Niebur Golf is one of the most successful Golf Construction Companies in the country and I am excited that I have been asked to become part of the team,” says Sakocius. “I look forward to working with the staff to maintain their impressive success rate as well as exploring new opportunities in Golf and related businesses.”

Sakocius joins Niebur Golf after completing his tenure at Heritage Links where he served as president of golf construction and was instrumental in developing several high profile projects including Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, N.J.

Prior to his time there, Sakocius owned and operated Sajo Construction – the 1996 Golf Course News Builder of the Year.
