NGCOA Virginia chapter formed

NGCOA Virginia named David Norman as executive director with office headquarters in Glen Allen, Va.

The National Golf Course Owners Association formed a new chapter in Virginia – NGCOA Virginia. The NGCOA exists to make member facilities more productive, efficient and profitable, through advocacy, education, group purchasing programs and networking opportunities. There are around 3,500 member facilities nationally, with headquarters based in Charleston, SC.

NGCOA Virginia’s inaugural board of directors includes:

• Mike Bennett, GM/developer/owner group, The Westham Club, Moseley, Va.
• Glen Byrnes, director of golf, The Golden Horseshoe GC (Colonial Williamsburg), Williamsburg, Va.
• Richard Cromwell, director of golf, The Country Club of Virginia, Richmond, Va.
• Mike Cutler, vice president of business development, Billy Casper Golf, Fairfax, Va.
• Dave Donofrio, owner, King Carter GC, Irvington, Va.
• Paul Mauk, owner, Traditional Golf Properties, Toano, Va.
• Don Ryder, director of golf, The Homestead, Hot Springs, Va.
• Vinny Spagnuolo, GM, Aeropines GC (US Naval Facilities), Virginia Beach, Va.
• Bob Swiger, owner, Raspberry Golf Management, Leesburg, Va.

In addition, NGCOA Virginia has named David Norman as executive director, with the office headquarters established in Glen Allen, Va. Currently there are 68 member facilities of NGCOA Virginia, with a membership campaign now underway.
