NGCOA members who participated in the association’s Smart Buy purchasing program in 2007 received more than $500,000 in rebates. The savings added up to an average of $416 for each participating facility, according to NGCOA CEO Mike Hughes.
In addition, many participants received thousands of dollars in discounts and value-added services from companies that support the program, including Club Car, The Toro Company, entegra Procurement Services, Pepsi, ETS Corporation and Helena Chemical Company.
“The continued growth of the purchasing program reinforces the fact that both our members and industry partners are receiving value from their participation,” Hughes said.
Course owners and operators benefit from members-only pricing, rebates and value-added packages offered exclusively to NGCOA members. Manufacturers and service providers who participate in the program gain direct access to more than 5,000 businesses whose needs range from equipment and fertilizer to food and beverage and financial services.
Hughes also announced that Avis and Budget rental cars, Bauer International and QBE Insurance Group are joining the Smart Buy program for 2009. Avis and Budget, two of the world's leading car rental brands, will offer NGCOA members discounts of up to 25 percent on vehicles rented in the U.S. Bauer International’s line of clubhouse furnishings, accessories and golf shop fixtures, includes more than 1,000 items; the company is offering NGCOA members direct pricing on all furnishings. QBE provides property, inland marine, crime, general liability, hired and non-owned auto and umbrella coverage for all types of golf courses. NGCOA members will be able to purchase through their current agent and will receive an exclusive program available in all 50 states.
“As we add new partners, the Smart Buy program creates additional savings for participants and enhances the value of NGCOA membership,” Hughes said.
