The new clubhouse will officially open in January 2006 and will have 175 private members. When they reach 300 members, the Club will become resort-private and cater strictly to its members and guests of the Marco Island Marriott Resort, Golf Club and Spa.

Among the features of the new clubhouse include a private “members only” area complete with a game room, an exercise facility, library, lounge, veranda, private dining room, business office and a private meeting room. The main dining room will serve breakfast and lunch daily and during season it will debut for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, with a steakhouse theme. Rookery Club members and resort guests will have priority seating at all times. The main dining room also will serve as dedicated function space to the resort’s convention groups that wish to place a golf outing on their program agenda.

“Whether we are catering to a convention group of 144 players, our resort leisure guests or a club member playing along with their special guest, our new Clubhouse will allow us to personally deliver a private and memorable golf experience,” says Chris Major, director of golf operations.

The Rookery at Marco, designed by golf course architect, Robert Cupp Jr., provides five tee boxes on each of its 18 holes and oversized greens, making it an enjoyable golf experience for all skill levels. The Rookery at Marco is also home to the Faldo Golf School by Marriott.
