NBC Sports Next, a division of NBC Sports and part of NBCUniversal Media, announced the acquisition of RevTechPlus, a trusted revenue-management company that also provides marketing services and weather analysis to golf course customers nationwide.
RevTechPlus offers a revenue-management system, featuring its proprietary algorithm that constantly factors in weather, tee-time demand and historical data to help a client base of more than 90 public, semi-private and municipal golf courses set pricing and maximize revenue. It also offers a menu of additional services, including email marketing, social media and website hosting.
Founder and CEO Tom Barnhart and the RevTechPlus team will become employees of NBC Sports Next upon completion of the transaction.
“We are very excited to bring aboard Tom and the entire RevTechPlus team,” said Jerramy Hainline, SVP & GM, Golf, for NBC Sports Next. “They are established leaders in revenue management and have become a trusted resource for their golf course customers. We’re looking forward to collaborating with their entire team to build upon a solid foundation to further strengthen existing relationships and provide additional value.”
Integrating the services provided by RevTechPlus within NBC Sports Next will complement the golf course marketing and inventory management services provided by industry leader GolfNow and its Plus service, which helps golf courses optimize business performance.
“I am very excited for the RevTechPlus team to be joining NBC Sports Next. This is great news for our existing base of clients, as we now have many more resources available to enhance our service offerings,” Barnhart said. “GolfNow offers services that we were unable to provide to our clients and I see great value in the ability to include these tools and services as part of our package. We also look forward to integrating into the NBC Sports Next team to help shape the future of how golf courses manage tee times to maximize their revenue.”
More than 9,000 golf courses in 24 countries around the world utilize GolfNow technology and services, with 3.5 million registered golfers using GolfNow for booking tee times online and via mobile devices any time of day.
