N.Y. pro joins select group with elite certification

Ciaran Carr earned certification in three areas of the PGA’s certified professional program.

Ciaran Carr has attained three certifications from the Professional Golfer’s Association of America (PGA) Certified Professional Program. Carr is the director of golf at Putnam National Golf Club, a daily-fee, 18-hole championship course owned by Putnam County, N.Y., and operated by RDC Golf Group.

 

Carr joins an elite group of PGA Professionals only 88 out of nearly 27,500 nationally and one of only three in the Metropolitan Section to earn certification in three or more areas of this advanced educational program. 

 

The PGA Certified Professional Program (CPP) is an online, career-enhancing curriculum that supports PGA Professionals who are committed to continuously enhancing their golf management skills in order to stay ahead of the increasing demands of the industry. Since the program’s inception in August 2004, 464 PGA Professionals nationwide have earned a total of 837 certifications in six related career paths.

 

Carr has attained certification in instruction, general management and golf operations and plans to work towards earning certification in the remaining three areas:  retail, executive management and ownership/leasing.
