Mountain View County Club
Mountain View Country Club, located in the La Quinta community in the Coachella Valley, has introduced three new key staff to its members — a director of grounds, a general manager and an executive chef.
Jared Taylor is the new director of grounds. He began his career as a superintendent at Tamarisk Country Club in Rancho Mirage, then worked at the Madison Club in La Quinta and the Annenberg Retreat at Sunnylands. In 2016, he made the move from Sunnylands to Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage and began his involvement with the annual Chevron Championship, long called the Dinah Shore and a major LPGA golf tournament. He is completing his first full season and is committed to maintaining championship caliber course conditions at Mountain View.
Marco Sotomayor was appointed general manager earlier this year. Originally from Mexico City, he moved to California 30 years ago. He has worked for JW Marriott, Renaissance Esmeralda Resort, Desert Horizons Country Club and Motorsports Club in Thermal, California. Jorge Martinez is the new executive chef. He began his career in 1999 at Spago Beverly Hills and quickly advanced under Wolfgang Puck. He worked as the executive chef at La Quinta Cliffhouse Grill and Bar since 2016.
Mountain View Country Club opened its championship Arnold Palmer Signature 18-hole course in 2005. The private, member-owned community offers a tranquil lifestyle with golf as the centerpiece.
