After years of research, Cog Hill Golf & Country Club's owner Frank Jemsek elected to bring in Rees Jones to revamp the No. 4 course in September of 2007, reports PGATour.com.
Main goals of the renovation included rebuilding the 18 greens, which are now sand based and feature the SubAir system.
"With SubAir, the grass is healthier and the air circulation below the surface is greatly improved, which can make greens firm, fast and challenging for the pros," said Ken Lapp, the golf course superintendent, "Another benefit is that greens dry out faster, which allows for championship quality speed even in wet conditions."
