Rick Menard has joined Greenhorn Creek Resort as the head golf course superintendent. With over 20 years experience practicing his craft, Menard arrives in California’s Gold Country from the Coachella Valley following a three-year stint as director of agronomy at Indian Wells Resort, where he was nominated in as Troon’s Superintendent of the Year in 2014. He also served in the same position for eight years at Westin Mission Hills.
"Rick Menard brings a keen eye for detail and leadership to our team here at Greenhorn Creek and we are excited to have him and the experience he brings,” said Allan Ramorini, assistant general manager and director of golf at Greenhorn Creek Resort. “He has already done a great job with playability of the golf course and is determined to make it the best maintained golf course in Northern California."
In his decision to assume the new position, Menard, who is married with one son, admits being lured by a fantastic layout in an amazing location. His primary efforts will be focused on improving playing conditions at Greenhorn Creek Resort, including irrigation, and to making sure more efficient maintenance operations are implemented.
