Medalist Golf awarded certification

The GCBAA added Medalist Golf, Inc. to the Professional Certification Program.

The Golf Course Builders Association of America added Medalist Golf, Inc. to the Professional Certification Program.

Established in 1992, the GCBAA Professional Certification Program was designed to identify competent and experienced golf course builders and ensure uniform quality standards within the industry. GCBAA certified builders must be in the golf construction business at least five years, provide professional and financial references, attend at least one GCBAA educational session annually, pass a written exam and engage in ethical business practices.

Medalist Golf, Inc. was established in 1996 with one goal in mind: To produce the highest-quality golf courses possible. With more than 20 years of combined experience, Medalist Golf recognizes that the completion of top-quality courses involves careful planning, hands-on management and continuous technical support.

Medalist’s more than four-dozen projects include construction for architects such as Tom Fazio, Rees Jones, Greg Norman, Davis Love III, Tom Watson, Robert Cupp, John LaFoy and Jim Engh. Also specializing in renovation of existing courses, Medalist Golf has provided services to many famed venues such as East Lake Golf Club and Peachtree Golf Club in Atlanta, as well as golf destination resorts in Sea Island, Ga., Reynolds Plantation, and the Greenbrier Resort in W.Va.
