Martin’s PGA TOUR Superstore, which has locations in Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach, S.C., is sponsoring ten local golf and tennis tournaments during June 2006. Funds raised during the events will help support a variety of worthy causes including local high school scholarships, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Tara Hall Home for Boys and the Grand Strand Humane Society.
“We are pleased to be able to support a variety of local organizations by providing merchandise or direct financial support to their fundraising tournaments,” says Paul Rodriguez, district manager of Martin’s PGA TOUR Superstore. “It is a humbling experience to see all of the many needs our community has, but it is inspiring for us to work with those groups who devote their time and energy to raising funds for such worthy causes.”
During the month of June, Martin’s PGA TOUR Superstore will donate more than $15,000 in gift certificates and in-kind services in support of charitable events. These include the Pawleys Island Lion’s Club Annual Golf Tournament benefiting Tara Hall and Leader Dogs for the Blind; the Little River Elks 2nd Annual Golf Tournament benefiting Helping Hands Charity; Bethany Christian Services Tennis Tournament benefiting the Children’s Fund; and WPDE Channel 15’s golf event to raise money for local high school scholarships.
Other tournaments receiving support from Martin’s PGA TOUR Superstore include the Hanna Weis Celebrity Golf Tournament benefiting the Hanna and Friends Foundation for children with autism and developmental disorders; the 1st Annual Myrtle Beach Select Baseball Golf Tournament to raise money for the team’s tournament trip; Foster’s 5th Annual Golf Tournament benefiting the Grand Strand Humane Society; Christel House Open Golf Tournament in support of The Children’s Fund; a benefit golf tournament in support of the S.C. School for the Deaf and Blind; and the Round the 4th Tennis Classic in Conway, S.C.
In addition to supporting more than 30 local fundraising events during the first six months of 2006, Martin’s PGA TOUR Superstore is a sponsor of national and international golf tournaments such as the PGA TOUR Superstore World Amateur Handicap Championship, the PGA TOUR Superstore National Father/Son Classic, the FDNY 9-11 Memorial Golf Outing, and the National Policeman’s Tournament.
