Marriott Golf names director of golf at Stone Mountain Golf Club

Dustin Irwin was hired at the Stone Mountain, Ga. course.

Marriott Golf announced that Dustin Irwin has been named Director of Golf Operations at Stone Mountain Golf Club, a 36-hole golf facility in Stone Mountain, Ga. In this position, Irwin will be responsible for overseeing all golf operations, including golf & grounds maintenance, and all sales and marketing initiatives. Stone Mountain, an Audobon Certified facility, recently received the GCSAA/ Golf Digest’s Environmental Leaders in Golf Award (ELGA), which recognizes golf courses and superintendents worldwide for their commitment to environmental stewardship.

Irwin comes to Stone Mountain from Blue Tip Golf Club, a 9-hole Greg Norman designed golf course at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, in the Cayman Islands. While at Blue Tip, Irwin played a significant role in the final construction, grow-in and pre-opening phases of the course, which opened in the fall of 2005. 

Prior to his time at Blue Tip, Irwin served in a variety of supervisory and management capacities at some of Marriott International's most prestigious properties, including White Witch Golf Course in Rose Hall, Jamaica, The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida and The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes, in Orlando, Florida.  Irwin is a graduate of the Professional Golf Management Program at Ferris State University and is a Class A PGA Member.
