The Los Cabos Tourism Board announced that the destination will host the 2007 People vs. The Pros Championship Golf Event, Nov. 29 - Dec.4.
The People vs. Pros is one of the PGA's Challenge Events and is a unique tournament that features amateur golfers competing head-to-head against professionals from the PGA TOUR and Champions Tour.

The format for People vs. the Pros features more than 200 amateur players competing over three days in a 54-hole qualifying stroke-play competition utilizing handicaps. The players are divided into two divisions: 49-and-under, and the over-50 division with each division played in flights. The flight winners will play each other to determine the division champion. The qualifying tournament will be played from Dec. 1 - 3, 2007.
On Dec. 4, the amateur champions play an 18-hole championship match against Chris DiMarco representing the PGA TOUR and Tom Watson representing the Champions Tour. The matches are taped for telecast Dec. 23 on ESPN2. The winners each receive $50,000 designated to the charity of their choice. Until last year, the score was Amateurs 3 - Pros 3; currently, the Pros lead 5 - 3.
"The amateur golfers who participate in this tournament always bring their best game, making for a very exciting event" says Tom Watson who has made thirteen official PGA appearances for the second straight year and was among the top-10 finishers in over half of his starts.
"We will definitely be striving to maintain the PGA and Champions tour players' current lead," adds Chris DiMarco, who will always be remembered for his winning putt in the 2005 President's Cup. "And having the tournament in beautiful Los Cabos will add to the thrill."
