The former executive director of the European Tour, Ken Schofield, CBE, will lead a host of industry experts at the inaugural London Golf Conference on May 1-2.

Schofield will chair the two-day event that will focus on the impact of the recession across various areas of the golf industry.

The conference, which runs alongside the fifth London Golf Show in Docklands’ ExCeL Centre, will allow an international selection of businesses, individuals and associations from both the private and public sectors to discuss the big issues facing golf today while developing ideas and building relationships.

Travel, retail and the professional game are among the areas that will be discussed by speakers from the PGA, the PGAs of Europe, the European Tour and IMG, which represents tour pros including Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia.

“It’s an honor to head such an esteemed list of speakers," Schofield said. “To have so many big-name organizations involved in an inaugural event is extremely impressive and shows that the golfing world is ready to respond and contribute its expertise to the London Golf Conference.
