Cleveland – Since the beginning of 2003, LESCO has opened more than 60 new service centers in order to accelerate its growth and better serve its customers. Sales at the new locations continue, reinforcing the company’s strategy to increase its total number of service centers by 10 to 15 percent while also increasing the number of Stores-on-Wheels vehicles covering the country.
To ensure that the company continues opening these new selling entities as effectively and efficiently as possible, the company hired Michael Poole as its new vice president of real estate and store planning. This new position will report directly to Michael DiMino, LESCO’s president and chief executive officer.
“Lawn care, landscape, pest control and golf course professionals have always appreciated the value that our service centers and Stores-on-Wheels offer them and their businesses,” says DiMino. “With nearly 300 service centers and more than 100 Stores-on-Wheels across the country, we offer unmatched convenience for immediate and reliable product supply. Plus, the technical advice that our associates provide these customers helps them solve problems in their business every day.”
LESCO’s analysis of the turf care and pest management industries indicates that there is potential for the company to open at least 250 additional service centers.
“The new Service Centers have accelerated our growth rate, and they are central to our commercial retailing strategy, whereby we adopt business practices from leading retailers and integrate them into our business so we can better serve our commercial customers,” notes DiMino. “Michael Poole has been responsible for opening new stores for well-known retailers like Talbot’s, Dairy Mart and Edison Brothers Stores, and he brings more than 25 years of successful retail design, planning and construction management experience to LESCO. He is clearly the perfect individual to manage this process for us.”
