Las Cruces Country Club joins golf course community

The facility will encompass 200 acres within The Fountains at Sierra Norte in Las Cruces, N.M.

The Southwest golfing community awaits the opening of a new golf course scheduled to be completed next year. Nestled in the rolling high-desert hills of Las Cruces and surrounded by mountain terrain, the new Las Cruces Country Club (LCCC) will encompass 200 acres within The Fountains at Sierra Norte, a golf course community. Las Cruces is currently served by four golf courses, and has a growing retirement community and a population nearing 100,000 people.

With an opening date of March 2009, regional golfers have a new opportunity for a challenging golf experience. Natural vegetation will be preserved and little of the land will be disturbed in the development process.

The private, 18-hole course is designed by award-winning architect Ken Dye, president of Finger Dye Spann. He designed the nationally-recognized Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Club in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Stonebriar Country Club in Dallas, Texas; Pinon Hills in Farmington, New Mexico and Forest Course at Kingwood Country Club in Houston.

The Sierra Norte community is a new master-planned development on the East Mesa of Las Cruces. In addition to the new country club and golf course, The Fountains at Sierra Norte community has access to protected mountain wilderness and walking trails throughout the area.
