Landscapes Unlimited promotes Tom O’Connor to project manager

After nine years with the company, the Texas native will now handle Sunbelt region projects from the Lone Star State to Florida.

The golf course developer and construction company Landscapes Unlimited promoted Tom O’Connor to project manager in their South Region.

A valued member of the Landscapes Unlimited team for nine years, O’Connor is widely respected by golf course owners, architects and superintendents for his field knowledge, creativity and fiscal prudency. His work building high-quality golf courses, country clubs, resorts and communities, as well as sports fields, earns high praise from his peers.

In his new role, O’Connor will oversee an experienced and growing talent pool executing $20,000 to $2 million-plus projects within Landscapes Unlimited’s Sunbelt region, from Florida to Texas.  Utilizing the company’s project management framework, O’Connor is responsible for cost estimating and budget development, activity and resource planning, contract management, financial forecasting, talent management and realizing client satisfaction.

“I’m extremely proud of all Landscapes Unlimited delivers in ‘super servicing’ clients: understanding client’s desired project outcomes, delivering on expectations and managing the project with an Owner mentality” O’Connor said. “We place talented people in the right positions and are recognized for being approachable, relatable and supportive of architects, superintendents and other stakeholders.”

“Tom’s energy, desire to dig into the details of anything put in front of him and caring nature make him a magnetic personality and great leader on site and within the company,” chief development officer Jake Riekstins said. “He operated a commercial and residential construction company early in his career, so he gravitates toward head-first dives into project minutiae with his teams to produce reliable and outstanding finished products.”

O’Connor cites Landscapes Unlimited’s track record attaining repeat business from owners of multiple golf courses and sports facilities among his most gratifying career moments. His repeat engagements with The Northwood Club in Dallas and Texas Christian University in Fort Worth have earned O’Connor numerous accolades within the Texas golf and sports field markets.
