Landscapes Unlimited appoints Larry Barefield as senior project manager

Barefield has worked in 29 states and multiple countries during a nearly three-decade career.

Landscapes Unlimited has appointed Larry Barefield as senior project manager.

Over nearly 30 years, Barefield has become one of the golf industry’s most respected project managers.  His versatility will benefit Landscapes Unlimited’s new golf course builds and renovations spanning private, daily-fee and resort operations.

Supervising company field managers, Barefield will also closely collaborate with golf course owners, architects and others integral to the process of delivering decidedly positive experiences to all involved, including golfers.

“No construction company has done more for golf than Landscapes Unlimited,” Barefield said. “It has modern-day resources, planning processes and technology to make golf courses’ big pictures and little details sync, on-time, on-budget and of immense quality.”

Barefield’s career started as a 22-year-old at the construction divisions of Robert Trent Jones, Sr., RTJ, Jr., and other golf and civil construction companies. His work incudes Mirabel Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, RTJ Golf Trail at Ross Bridge in Hoover, Alabama, and U.S. Women’s Open host CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, California. In addition to projects in 29 states, Barefield’s imprints dot Ireland, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.

“Acquiring the talents and experience of Larry is a coup for Landscapes Unlimited,” Landscapes Unlimited COO Brian Vitek said. “He is hands-on in the field, optimizing construction teams’ outputs, design intent, maintenance efficiencies and other best practices, so golf course owners derive tremendous value from our work.”
