Landscapes Unlimited has opened the application process for its 2022 internship program that is designed to help college students hone their skills in the development and construction of golf courses and sports fields.
Integrating classroom learning and real-world work environments, students are mentored by Landscapes Unlimited project managers in project policies, procedures, scope and communications; construction and irrigation techniques and processes; equipment management; and project execution.
Each area delves deep into the sophisticated tactics — including Landscapes Unlimited’s proprietary “M4” premium UAV tool that efficiently maps, measures, models and manages projects’ lifecycles — implemented by field teams.
Interns are assigned challenging projects and tasks that align with their academic tracks and career interests. Their progress is tracked against qualitative and quantitative goals for optimized experiences. Several have advanced to full-time positions at Landscapes Unlimited, evidencing the company’s collaborative and progressive culture toward universal client satisfaction.
“Leadership is the ability to achieve results through people,” COO Brian Vitek said. “We are proud to cultivate the next generation of professionals and help future-proof the golf course and sports field development and construction discipline.”
Internships are 10 weeks. Applications can be accessed at www.landscapesunlimited.com and are due on April 30. For more information, contact Amanda Tucker at amtucker@landscapesunlimited.com.
Landscapes Unlimited internships align with the company’s Emerging Leaders program. With a promote-from-within motivation, the company selects employees demonstrating capabilities to move into senior roles. Curriculum is designed to sharpen modern-day business and technical skills, and is supported by shadowing Landscapes Unlimited leadership.
Guided by budgets from $20,000 to more than $20 million, emerging leaders work within Landscapes Unlimited project management framework. It includes activity and resource planning, organizing and motivating project teams, monitoring time management and progress, cost estimating and budget development, analyzing and managing project risk, and ultimately realizing client satisfaction.
